Since upgrading to Windows Vista,Spybot has not found any spyware on my computer in the last year,it could be Vista security is much better than windows XP ??

Spybot is not as good as removing 'infections' as it was a couple of years ago.The best 2 free programs AVG antispyware the best trojan remover and SpyWareDoctor starter edition the best adaware remover.

im not to technical minded and im not sure if spybot is anti virus or anti spyware. i agree with hoppy though that it removes viruses very well.ive been using defender for two years and only when i had a problem, defender could identify it but couldnt resolve it. when i used spybot it got rid of it and identified other problems which my defender full scans missed. so do i need another spyware programme then? would be grateful if someone could help please...?

"Good virus protection?"
Spybot doesn't detect viruses (see review below).It detects Spyware hence the reason it's called Spybot.(AVG + Avast detect viruses). Spybot has never found any Spyware on my computer in the 2 years that i have used it,whereas Windows Defender and Spyware Doctor starter edition)have both been sucessfull,in eliminating Spyware.So how do i rate Spybot if it hasn't detected anything,i give it a 3 because hoppy say's it's a good AV.

if you want to know whats crap then try windows defender. i used it for 6 months and it was useless. i downloaded spybot and i have to say it was very good at finding and eliminating 7 viruses on my pc. so far so good for spybot..

I only use it for the excellent immunize function. For a scanner there are better alternatives, like AVG Anti-Spyware (i use the portable version - google for Ewido Micro Scanner).

friends today the increase of spywares is much faster than computer viruses.before 2 years the situation was not like this, hence spybot was enough. but today even the corporates have started creating spywares to get users surfing info and publishing ads related to his search.Everyone things that spywares are less vulnerable, but thats not true. once i was watching porn sites( i am just an common boy). suddenly it says to view this site you need this plugin. i downloaded it. after download it started automatically and gets installed in my Pc. at that moment my desktop got hijacked. if i click on my desktop means, the default browser will open for 100 times non stoppingly and it will navigate to many ad servers.i am unable to stop it. then i pressed the restart button again on start up the same happned. i am unable to open any other programs. later i boot my pc is safe mode and ran these programs ad-aware(it found nothing), spybot(nothing was found). superantispyware(53 items was detected).later spyware doctor(2 items were detected). so the choice is yours

"Old Faithful"
Although this program gets good ratings,it has never found any spyware on my computer,unlike AVG anti-spyware and Spyware Doctor starter edition (both free programs)which have both come up trumps in finding both spyware and Adware that Spybot didn't detect.
The resident shield does work,but the teatimer is a real nag and doesn't work like a true resident shield.

2.we can use it as registry gaurd(Tea Timer)
3.the inbuilt tea timer is superb
4.contains lot of inbuilt must have tools.
5.use superantispyware (must have)
6.scan your pc every week with superantispyware program. also it contains restriction removal tool
