Cannot fault this excellent file cleaner i have used other so called ' reg cleaners'and they delete/fix more than they should and a system restore is the only solution,to 'repair the damage' . Only two other programs are safe to use Tuneup utilities 2008 and Ashampoo Winoptimizer but they are not free.

Actually, CCleaner is Vista compatible, despite not being listed as such here on FreewareFiles [ and all 32bit, partial 64] (see FAQ on its web site).
Also. when one says "on my system", what is your system (OS)?-- so others might see a pattern or say that that didn't/did happen to me despite/on same OS.
On 2kpro, through numerous versions, I have never had a problem emanating from this excellent, versatile program.

CCleaner 2 is still buggy and using it made my system unstable (i guess it's the registry cleaner's fault?), bsod and stuff.
Went back to 1.41 which never failed me.

Cannot imagine anyone not rating this cleanup utility a '5' unless they are totally clueless as to what it does, and what it allows the individual user to do with a few tweaks of the winapp2.ini file. THANK YOU for a fantastic program. TOP NOTCH all the way !

Please read the OS list people. 9x/ME/NT/2K/XP, it doesn't list Vista! Why complain when you screw up?! Do yourself a favor and junk Vista, it's the most overrated and bloated piece of (fill in the blank) that Microsoft has put out in years.-{MasktRacer}- PS CCleaner is one of the best freeware programs you'll ever use.

I Do Really like CCleaner,but This Version is Buggy on my System { Keeps Saying Error and CCleaner Will Have to Close }.So I Uninstalled This Version and Went back to A Previous Version.Now I Do not have This Annoying Error Message.When They Get this Bug out of it Then I Will Up Date this,As I Find this Is A really Cool Program.
