there are a few bugs I've come across after an hour using it, e.g. the non-acive window doesm't refresh automatically when you copy a file, and if it refreshes, it's suspiciously slow. and some features I miss> batch renaming, multi-tab interface and ftp client. by: dhaa | 3 | 2006-11-21 | | | | ""
IT'S VERY NICE PROGRAM; AND.... FREE! by: DIB | 5 | 2006-11-15 | | | | "Good, some lacks"
Thanks for this nice prog. There are some things that should be fixed:
- COPY and MOVE does not generate a confirmation box, but should
- Sorting files should be by extension, not the silly "type", and do not display this type at all
- COPY, MOVE, DELETE: there should be built-in native directory recursion, confirmation and progress indicator routines, like TCMD has, not using those silly ones "stolen" from exploder
- And the archive support (TAR, 7-ZIP, ...)

...but missing FTP - like it´s integrated in TotalCommander. Waiting until a new version... by: THHUSTLER | 4 | 2006-10-14 | | | | "Best Explorer replacement"
This software is the best Explorer replacement, which one can wish oneself as users. For homogeneous achievements others demand between 20 and 50 EUR. Does the question arise why? I am inspired user, who carries here also gladly a donation out. Thanks to the programmer.

It would be very nice if a batch rename was possible. by: Jean-Pol | 4 | 2006-09-29 | | | | "FC Startup time"
I love Free Commander! But when I click on the program, it takes 10 seconds for it to start up. by: DWW | 5 | 2006-09-20 | | | | "freeCommander"
A most worthy application, fun even. So much to it, had to download the Help file by: Timothy | 5 | 2006-09-10 | | | | "Superb!"
Absolutely a great tool! I have used FreeCommander for over a year now and it has saved me much time and frustration. The best I have tried. by: Happy User | 5 | 2006-09-06 | | | | "a jowel, but imperfect"
Pleeeeaaaase open the coodee!!!
there are so much features I want to add to perfect this software. by: goku | 5 | 2006-09-06 | | | | "Best Freeware File Manager"
The product is absolutely awesome! It is surely the best freeware file manager I've tried, and certainly is the closest to the powerful but costly Total Commander! It has an easy-to-use and cosy interface, it possesses basically all the functionality I love in TC, it is translated into many languages, including my native Russian and Ukrainian, and it is absolutely free of charge!
Disadvantages are very small, and basically these are disadvantages in comparison with TC. First, it supports viewing only 3 types of archives: zip, rar and cab. Basically, it's 90% of what I need, and it the rest is solved by installing 7Z and working with it. Second and the major thing I lack is copying/moving files in the background or in a separate window, so that one could continue working in FreeCommander while big files are copying.
But anyway, I certainly keep recommending this programme to all my friends who can't afford bying file managers, even the good one like TC! by: Vlad | 5 | 2006-09-04 | | | | "Great, but..."
Thanks for this great file manager!
Still, there's one important feature missing, that prevent me from letting my kids use it.
It's annoyingly easy to rename files and folders with a "slow double click". For security reasons, I would like to disable this feature.
Thanks! by: MK | 4 | 2006-09-03 | | | |
