Free firewall-wise, ZoneAlarm is my choice. If you have problems with memory usage, try comodo firewall instead (comodogroup makes it).
But, staying on topic, I haven't had a single problem with this program -- I'm operating on 3.0 GHz, 800 FSB, 2 GB Memory, though, so you Pentium III users, I feel you, I used it with PIII, and it was horrible with boot time, I'll give you that, but if you have a gig or more of memory, it should work fine -- it does what it says, and the logging feature helps me report the consistantly naggy ones that want to get in.
I highly recommend this product for low-budget users.

If you install This it will Protect you.
It can be very annoying when it: slows you down, stops, asks, etc.
Use the firewall shutdown-key, if you donīt want to be interfered when you are downloading.
Reliable I would say.

Until they can shrink the size of the program, i guess this product still don't worth to try because it will surely still use hell lots of memory and hell lots of disk space.

ZoneAlarm was one of myself and my uni friends' top choice when comes to firewall. It seems there are many more viable alternatives found out there which are smaller, more features and faster. Pity ZoneAlarm didn't improve much on their free firewall that once my favourite.

Got a message from avast saying it could'nt download the anti-virus update because of zonealarm.Which makes you consider zonelabs has it's own pay for anti-virus product so it's not in there best financial interests for anyone to have another anti-virus program !

If you have a older computer get a good memory optimizer such as freeram xp pro then you should have less problems with memory.as for the harmless adware what to you expect it's free!

If you want to download , turn it off. When you are finished, turn it on. Itīs simple.
It feels safe. Itīs like a watchdog.

Don't think so buddy, ZoneAlarm doesn't come with spyware or adware, it's just your comp that they sent it to then?
The new version is excellent, fixed some flaws.
