Does lots of the basic cleanup pretty well - combine with CrapCleaner to keep the PC running well. by: Squiggle | 5 | 2007-06-25 | | | | "best immuniser"
One of the best freewares for immunising your PC against spyware.
The spyware detection may not be as good as the others but the spyware immunization feature is the best compared to all others by: teejee | 5 | 2007-06-25 | | | | ""

Ok here's a major reason many are having some problems with this program : of the 7 main catagories on main page , look out for System Analysis because usually it has 4 or 5 subcatagories /pages.. when one views one of the pages and adjusts it as desired then , if one goes to bottom of that page and hits "optomize now" thinking it will only affect that page.. it won't, it will "optimize" all checked boxes on ALL subcatagory pages within System Analysis .. and since by default all boxes are checked , it's a done deal on all of them unless one made a restore ..I find it tremendously beguiling that the authors know not of this (I assume) And although it's findings are generally good , it's like you have to know these caveats first. So knowing this, i give it a 3.. but shezz by: mweizor | 3 | 2007-05-27 | | | | ""
It somewhat surprises me how many people do not ,apparently, read collective previous reviews, when available and to get a sense of what one might encounter:
Firstly , be advised that this "personal" release does not let one specify the principle usage or the connection type of ones pc (that's on "pro." version) therefore the "optimizes" are on GENERAL settings. That in mind , and anyway, if one does a total scan an hits repair unscrutinized, one is just looking for trouble. Like any other of this type , look under "show details" for each of the seven main catagories and check or uncheck or put on ignore as one deems ..if not sure, wait, it'll come up in the next scan if not excluded(ignored). No "one click fix"..do it gradually. Also it has some good system listing features. Basically , use what you need out of it . I give it a good+ (3.5 rating)------ and this rating only if one keeps in mind the aforementioned.

Advanced WindowsCare Personal is a very effective cleaning/optimizing tool, but for experienced users only! All cleaning and optimizing functions/results require careful user consideration and selection! I'm a 10 year computer veteran, and I missed deselecting several file options that resulted in having to go back to a previous Restore point! There are a multitude of select/deselct actions that are easy to misread or miss completely! ***Create a Restore point BEFORE running this or any other cleaner/optimizer! If your OS isn't able to create a Restore point prior to running, don't run this or any other cleaner/optimizer!*** by: farpointstation | 3 | 2007-05-25 | | | | "Great"
I find it amazing at how the last few reviwers reviewed this program. I find it to be excellent and flawlessly good. Great free software. Thanks AWC and Freeware Files. by: miner | 5 | 2007-05-25 | | | | "Warning"
If you use it to clean/protect your computer, then it's good. But whatever you do, DON'T LET IT OPTIMIZE YOUR SETTINGS. I did this, and it completely crashed my computer. I had to do a system recovery.
You have been warned. by: VJ | 2 | 2007-05-23 |  | | | "Its good, but.."
You do not buy "Advanced Windows Care" you rent it by the year. At the end of your license period, you are back to crippleware.
Also it will alter your system settings and disable things like "balloon tips" without your knowledge. you can actually tell it to ignore some functions but only when it is about to do it. If it changes a setting you did not want changed, it will not bring it up again and you have no way to reverse it unless you re-install the program it disabled, or find the key in the registry. This is something I do not recommend to beginners.
The solution is not to let it alter your system settings by de-selecting that option.

No, I'm not affiliated with Iobit..not the easiest to find but here's what's "new" (post-beta) -- but again, if one can't customize the configuration , there is no way it's "one-click-fix" nor "optimizing".
2.4 (May 8, 2007)
+ Added new registration and activation mechanism
+ Added new hardware detection module
+ Enhanced support for Windows Vista
+ Improved install/uninstall function
+ Improved restoration function
* Fixed imcompatible bugs with Firefox 2
* Fixed multi-language problems
* Fixed general bugs

It purports to be all-in-one but what I see is a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none. by: Bobbie | 2 | 2007-04-23 |  | | | "v.-2.40 beta3.1"
I could not find what is changed on this program on its web site. That pisses me off, especially on a beta release. If one already has a registry scanner, run both without changing anything and compare findings. As with some of its other function results , i simply chose not to accept all of its indications. And as with most of the programs i try , i get what i can , if anything, out of them and move on. I did get some things out of this program but after that , didn't need it. Given all the former, i'll give it a general (and generous) 3. by: mweizor | 3 | 2007-04-22 | | | | "Bad registry cleaning"
This utility identified and cleaned more than 150 registry errors. But my PC ended up with more than 1,500 registry errors, which MISPBO Free Registry Cleaner detected and cleaned up. I think one is better off using a separate tool for each of the functions performed by AWC. This is a poor software that promises more than it can deliver. by: Baristados | 1 | 2007-04-22 | | | |
