The extra methods, objects, etc. in Framework 2.0 are extremely useful indeed. .NET 3.0 and 3.5 (and, soon, 4.0) do not add to the object hierarchy - they still use .NET 2.0 for the framework itself.

Regarding my previous entry-- I'll correct myself: The base download is 22.4mb which expands to 89.9mb upon install; there are, as of 8/3/07, three security updates, totaling 17.6mb. I strongly suggest one do a disk defrag after install, beyond ones usual routine.

This is a comment to the fact that this is the primary/first release of this framework 2 at 22.4mb; however ,to date, the ensuing security updates (two) are about 24.1mb [pre-install sizes- ballooning about 3x post-install ]. This download offering should be updated to reflect this so a user can make a more informed decision. As to functionality/stability, on 2kpro, I haven't noticed a problem.

On Win2000sp4, I didn't get error messages upon install or usage as previous anonymous reviewer commented.. but it is rather large and installs as such.
