The newer versions works with the new Delphi 2006 BDS. This is an excellent alternative to the Borland BDE. I found it extremely mature and stable.

"Does What It Is Supposed To Do"
It is a small, fast replacement for Borlands BDE (No Longer Supported By Borland). It compiles into program with no additional DLLs required and best of all, it is free for personal use. Been using it with Delphi 7 for several months with no problems.
