| | 2012-01-22 | | | | "SW 12 support missing" by: Zorglup Active Home Vista 2.2.5
Pros: Great software ! Other Thoughts: The SW12 module support is missing. I can't control my shutters. SW12 module with SDK doesn't work with ON command. It only works with extended command.
If you could add this support, it will be wonderful.

| | 2012-01-22 | | | | "Thanks Arjan! Got it working Great!" by: PugX10 Active Home Vista 2.2.5
Pros: (in addition to my previous post)...
Excellent Support! Other Thoughts: Thanks to Arjan's speedy email response, I now have AHV working with the Android app in my home, using the wi-fi capabilities of the programs.
I didn't have the correct address input into my "LAN Server Address" on my cellphone. After Arjan suggested that I check the addresses, I found that I had used my "default" IP Address, instead of my IPv4 address.
After inputing the correct addy [I simply had to add a "0" (zero) to the default address], everything started working great! Was this review helpful? 7 out of 10 users found this review helpful.
| | 2012-01-19 | | | | "I Like It!" by: PugX10 Active Home Vista 2.2.5
Pros: - It's Free! (thank you)
- Simple and Intuitive GUI
- With Android App, AHV allows the remote monitoring of motion sensors inside and outside my home.
- Android App enables quick and accurate remote switching on/off/dimming/brightening of my installed X10 units. Cons: - Limited capabilities using the USB CM15A interface (no macro/timer use).
- Limited "Help" with options (especially the "Communications" tab).
- No "community interaction" (i.e. no "AHV forum"). Other Thoughts: As far as the Android App goes, I have what may be a unique problem... my home is in a Verizon "dead zone". Hence, I can't get a connection to AHV using my cellphone unless I'm away from home (it works great while I'm at work - close to one of their towers).
I thought AHV would allow me to connect to it using wi-fi through my wireless modem/router (I read a previous review that said it does) but apparently it either doesn't, or I don't have the "Commnications" tab setup correctly on my server PC or in the Android App (or both).

Pros: Reply to Mach30; just reset the battery timer (Actions -> New batteries placed) and you will probably be fine. Please send me an email directly instead of giving a low score here... Other Thoughts: NoneWas this review helpful? 11 out of 24 users found this review helpful.
| | 2011-10-27 | | | | by: Mach30 Active Home Vista 2.2.1
Pros: 1) Works with Vista
2) Accepts Com6
3) Talks with CMA11a Cons: 1) Problems changing com ports: I use a USB com6 port and I have to plug and unplug the USB a few times to get a good connection.
2) It often says "No checksum received". Is a CM11A supposed to send a Checksum? What does that mean?
3) Active Home Vista says disconnected, but the log looks like it is communicating:

Yet Active Home still shows "Disconnected (CM11A)" Other Thoughts: Really, cool. I have tried a couple of CM11As, but cannot get them to reliablely turn on and off lights yet. Need better diagnostics, maybe a per device log, that shows how many on and off cmds were sent. I am guessing you know the device did not turn on somehow? How do you know that.
Oh! I really need a better ON/OFF button on each device. I would like the software to cmd the device ON or OFF until its status is ON or OFF. Just keep trying until it works (status ON or OFF), is that possible?
I love the pictures for each device.
Great project. It is the only way I could get all my old hardware working again!

Pros: All seem to work including webserver but... not with rain 8 Cons: I am unable to use Rain 8 with Active home vista version 2.2. I tried all the modules but none seems to work.
Any idea? Other Thoughts: NoneWas this review helpful? 13 out of 25 users found this review helpful.

| | 2011-08-30 | | | | "problems solved !" by: Michel Active Home Vista 2.1.5
Pros: The new updated version fixes the dim failure in the web interface. If I put 10101 in the android interface (in place of 1111) and open that port in my router, all is working ! Cons: None Other Thoughts: a way to view (time updated) pics from my home cams while switching. On my android, I switch from one app to another to activate a switch and see the result. Was this review helpful? 22 out of 36 users found this review helpful.
| | 2011-08-10 | | | | "Fixed webserver issue" by: Developer Active Home Vista 2.1.5
Pros: Fixed the webserver issue. About connecting using 3g: make sure to use your router's external address as WAN address in the Android application. Also make sure to forward port 10101 to your PC's address. Other Thoughts: NoneWas this review helpful? 16 out of 47 users found this review helpful.
| | 2011-08-03 | | | | "ws12a - ws467 OK !" by: Michel Active Home Vista 2.1.4
Pros: Indeed ! I changed for the ws467 and all the switches are functionning, including dimmer (except that on the web interface the dimm change randomly) Cons: Nope. Other Thoughts: I tried the external remote (3G), without success. I opened the port on my router, put the wan on the android, nothing changed. Any clue ?Was this review helpful? 18 out of 47 users found this review helpful.
| | 2011-08-03 | | | | "Active Home Vista" by: Peter Active Home Vista 2.1.4
Pros: I can finally use my old CM17a through COM1 serial port to control my X-10 modules again! Cons: Haven't figured out how to group modules in same room and turn all modules off/on in that room - they appear to be in same room in that they are all under the same tab. Other Thoughts: Excellent piece of software with nice interface to use older legacy h/w with Windows 7 x64.
Works much better than the RF remote, possibly signal are more powerful than those sent through transceiver module. Was this review helpful? 26 out of 89 users found this review helpful.
| | 2011-07-25 | | | | "WS12A" by: Developer Active Home Vista 2.1.4
Pros: The WS12A can probably be controlled when chosing the WS467 unit.
Using the Android app using 3G or 4G is very well possible. It's not limited to Wi-Fi only! Other Thoughts: NoneWas this review helpful? 20 out of 59 users found this review helpful.
| | 2011-07-20 | | | | "features" by: Michel Active Home Vista 2.1.4
Pros: works with existing x10 devices. Cons: cannot use dimming features of the ws12a (most known x10 dimming switch sold in the world) because this switch is unknown. the dimming features of leviton are not recognized by my WS. Other Thoughts: I use android and will be glad to use this app outside my network, by using 3G/4G network. Was this review helpful? 27 out of 54 users found this review helpful.
