I used to like this program as its detection was deadly.
However i have noticed that it calls a lot of false positives lately and when compared to Malwarebytes free version, its simply out classed.!
It has a "massive" database hence the size of the program and tbh if you have malware on your pc, it "will" find it.
It might take a while as a "full" scan takes a long, long time to complete.
Updates are manual as its just a malware remover but frequent.
If im totally honest i would say, go for malwarebytes as its lighter, calls less fp's, scans only take a fraction of the time and less power hungry....

I would say that this is the best free antivirus program around and easy to use also! Just update it everyday. Gets virus that AVG can not get ride of, thats why i use AVG and a-squared.

This program has run well formy system. It gets frequent updates and has the largest datbase. No real time protection for the free version,but you cant expect everything in a free version. i recommend the program for use on daily basis especially for thos internet users who spend alot of time on the net.

"good secondary scanner"
its an ok program. firstly its a big sucker and if you perform a full scan, then find something to do for a couple of days! it takes forever. after a scan be very careful at what you delete or you "will" have problems.i use it for custom scanning only as its detection rate is good. hence the big database. it has no realtime protection and manual update only. would not use as primary spyware program but good for scanning.

I have tried to run this 3x & each time it knocks AVG8 free out & locks up computer. I have to reboot in safe mode & do a system restore & then update AVG again, strange.Have now given up & remove this programe NOTE: I am only a novice user
