Why would anyone use the free version or buy Avast 5 when there is a False statement on the website? On the website it says that Avast 5 finished in 1st place in the August 2009 Testing at www.av-comparatives.com. This is not correct. G Data Antivirus finished 1st with 99.8% detection rate. Avira Antivirus Premium finished 2nd with 99.4%. Avast was 98%. The claim that Avast scans fast is also not true. When you do a complete scan and check Test Whole Files, Avast takes 2 hours or more to complete a full scan.

After years of being the best, Avast today is even better with the newly redesigned program. It's still light on resources, yet truly totally reliable. If it's peace of mind you're looking for, then go no further.

"Site Blocking Removed"
Avast 5 has apparently removed the Site (URL) blocking feature from the free software. (If it's there, I can't find it) This was a very useful and handy feature. It is their software and they have the right to do as they please. I will soon remove Avast from my computers and use one of the other free antivirus software.
