I'm a self taught user. I like this program and have used it for years. I don't know about removing rootkits but the program will let you know if you have a problem. Personally I prefer to format and reinstall an infected installation. That way I know it's wiped out. The trick is knowing when you need to go that far. It is after all a good 2 day job to format and reload with all the updates. But I have found that even the well paid techies who work for the support centers are more often wrong than not. A lot of things they swear up and down can't be done, I have been doing for years.

"Mmmmm....Yeh right!"
I'm a NZQA Certified( Diploma,Level 5) PC Technician, and have been told by a Senior Profeesional who's been in the IT Business for over 30 years, that once you get a rootkit on your PC, the only thing you can do, is reformat & clean install, from scratch or a back-up copy,or ghost.Even '46 Best Freeware' reviews on rootkit removers will tell you NOTHING as yet has been made that will effectively remove rootkits.Danger is you may remove the infection, and ruin your installation,if you don't know what your removing.
