On 2kpro..
This program loads two processes: PCTAV.exe and PCTAVSvc.exe...
50% of the time, the progrom loads well... but, 50% of the time I get an error notice about PCTAV.exe (memory could not be read) resulting in no tray icon
and to a lesser occurrence, I get no error message, no tray icon and I can't start the GUI from the start menu.
But despite this, its core seems to be running (also, I azzume it's running a process / memory scan, at startup).
Beyond that, it seems good.
Installs at 30.5 mb, lowish memory use, generally I found the CPU load ok, sound scanner performance, so far seems to update about 3to4 days, the real-time guard is non-slowing.
PC Tools should inform as to what the new release constitutes.
Put a manual update in the tray icon right-click.
They've got to fix that startup thing; there should be no presuming involved in this type of crucial application. 3 rating.

Cons:
quite heavy when doing a full scan.
To Developers:
Please do some improvements. This may be the topmost antivirus soon that shall bring down AVG and Avast.

quality scanning and removal for free, with the sacrifice of taking heavy resources to run. there maybe better out there but since when does pcTools start giving products a freeware license ?
