| | | | "FAIL" by: buck_a Norton Antivirus Definition Updates (Administrators) 07-14-2011
Pros: none Cons: Takes up space on main page, slows machine down, nags of death, useless against malicious viruses, cons you to buy something useless, cannot be removed, causes system errors and conflicts Other Thoughts: This is not software and it should not be listed in the front page. Was this review helpful? 38 out of 82 users found this review helpful.

Other Thoughts: The last reviewer seems to be taking out his anger with Norton on www.freewarefiles.com and this download, which isn't fair.
Our copy of Norton is having problems doing live updates, and without this alternative method for downloading virus definition updates, we'd be outta luck. Thanks, freewarefiles! Was this review helpful? 159 out of 279 users found this review helpful.

Other Thoughts: Norton sucks! It's a f**king disgrace to the antivirus industry... Seriously, I had it for a few years, and I noticed that it didn't pick up a single thing, so I try a free antivirus, and what do I find? Trojans and viruses... Thanks for nothing Symantec -- I'll stick with the more intelligent antivirus makers.
Did I mention that Norton is also a resource-hogger?
I felt like pointing out: No matter how you update the database, if you don't have a good program, or scanner, or anything else to back it up, you pretty much suck at detection -- This holds true for Norton and Mcafee.
