worked fine for me. i blocked yahoo massenger just to check if it blocks the outbound connection. it worked. no crashes. yes it needs little technicalities. but for free firewall its exellent. using vista 32 bit, it didnt slowed down the system and conflicted no softwares

"Slow boot"
Installed easily. Yes, a bit finicky to get the key, but hey, its free! My main criticism is that XP now takes an age to boot up. Once its up and running it works fine, so for me the long delay to start is worth it.

Made PC run very slowly that slow I made a drink while IE was loading, uninstalled and back to windows firewall, making things back to normal speed, and this is a PC only one year old with good spec.

I give it a 3 for being a nagware freeware. Like Ed said earlier, true freeware doesn't require you to register or enter a key.
What are they using your info for, anyway?

I download it, go to the site to get the free register key, but it seems to think I have multiple accounts, or some other error. No customer service on the weekend. Find a program you don't have to register for. This isn't true freeware. Maybe it's nagware!

"Best free firewall for Windows Vista!"
This is by far the BEST free firewall for Windows Vista today. I´ve tried Comodo, and found it to be shockingly user-infriendly, not to say enerving - in 2 hours it listed almost 2000 alerts for "my attention", and I couldn´t see the pics of my contacts on Windows Live Messenger, even after unblocking it. I´ve tried PC Tools, and it blocked my connection completely, and crashed my computer when I clicked on Internet Explorer - thanks God I created a System Restore point, as the software hadn´t created one. Installing and setting Webroot Desktop Firewall took 5 minutes, and it feels like it isn´t there - the computer is just like before, and all apps connected easily - even though I´m still on "Training Mode". Great firewall! Really the best (free for Vista)!

I have been using this firewall for more than a month and i have set every setting at max. It did save my pc by showing that my antivirus was unstable and later fixed the antivirus. It is a good firewall and much much more.

"I love it"
As of now i have only used this firewall for a few hours and i have loved its response. The main reasons why i love it even more is because i have tried every free firewall out there from comodo to pc tools that claims to work on vista and all failed and nearly killed my pc. How many of you have seen vista crash? Not only does it install flawlessly but vista sees it and its current status. Concerning registration, i filled in my details and i had my key within three minutes and yes it is freeware. I will report any irregularities as i continue using it.
