"v- 3.1.56"

Of the four Hosts list providers, something is wrong with hpHosts. The others find immediately. This one just sits there. If I hit Cancel, it won't;
nor will the "x" close work --- had to Task Manager end task.

The Hots Server is a tad confusing. Hitting Exit not only closes the window, it stops the Server... have to hit the "x" (close window) to keep it enabled and the tray icon showing.

Under Help-> Visit Web site, lists the links to the Hosts list providers.
One can go to their sites to look for their reasoning for entry inclusion.
But from whom did the entry come from, if you use more than one list provider? --- I suggested a code in the comment column, well see.

But the vast program makeup is great... its find/manager is very functional

"Does its job extremely well!"

I've been using HostsMan for about three years now. It's as close to the perfect hosts file editor/manager that I think I'll ever find. The interface is straightforward. If you're familiar with editing hosts files manually, then you'll love how HostsMan makes such edits much, much easier to perform. Additionally, the updates regarding malicious sites is updated flawlessly by HostsMan. This little program is definitely a MUST for persons who seek online security. My only beef with HostsMan is that some of the entries in its various malicious sites updates are peculiar. For instance, by default, one of the lists denies access to Ask.com. Why? But, other than small quirks regarding some blocked sites, HostsMan is a winner -- and well worth the download if you value the integrity of your computer's hosts file and the security of your personal data.

"v- 3.1.52 beta4"

On 2kpro.. been using all of its beta's, all smoothly.
On install, open drop window ,and, if in doubt, select "install component when needed"--- great feature.
I use all of its four ad-block sources (presently, a bit over 64,000 entries).
Do go through its Options module-- though, the defaults are sound.
The program will show in start menu (or self-create a desktop shortcut icon).

"v- 3.0.45"

I like this program; very good control of managing ,editing and diagnostics; simple yet well designed; broader options of Hosts entrant sources and works well.

"HostsMan 3.0.45"

In response to the "commercob" comment ... this is an excellent program for viewing as well as working with your hosts file.

If you do not understand what a 'hosts' file is, or prefer not to use a hosts file to block ads and other miscellaneous crapware sites, then there is no reason for you to bash this program.

It uses a small footprint, is easy to work with out of the gate and does an effective job at helping to block parasites.
