 | "last, but sure as heck it's not the least" The Jetz series is one of my favorites, excluding Jetz 1 which to me makes zero sense.
But, starting with Jetz 2, and confirmed with Jetz 3 (Fusion), I realized that Jak had been supplanted as my favorite video game character of all time.
When a game character asks you to fling people through the air onto a target, you know you're in good hands. First off, the graphics of Revenge completely own the visuals of the prequels. Not only are there literally hundreds of moving objects onscreen, but there are dozens of flashing billboards as well (a cool feature is that all of the billboards were made by people in the GM Community.) Plus, the two cities are several 'stories' tall, so you can wreak vertical destruction as well.
Missions in general are pretty much the same, but a lot of the obnoxious 'kill people' missions of Jetz Fusion have been eliminated. Shawn has even put in a couple of very unique missions, such as one where you have to collect coins while being towed by a hovercar, and one where Jetz loses his jets and has to platform his way to the top of the city by jumping on glowing platforms. Great fun, great fun.
Plus, the police now have much more personality. There are many, many different types, including the Yellow ones with the claws (for those of you who played Shawn's excellent Infection, you will recognize it as the Claw Leaper), and my personal fave: the tiny, Special Forces troopers who travel in swarms and talk in chatspeak. Favorite line as a blew them to bits: LIEK OMG WTF????
So, this is pretty much a great play. There are zillions more weapons, custom music functions, upgrades, the ability to throw people, and if you download the GOLD version, a weapon editor you can use if you beat the game without cheating ;)
So...happy killing!
