Pros: Glad I found these lil guys! you can tell it's a first iteration but has alot of potential, there really addicting when i'm just got time to kill. I'd like to see more accessories n stuff to do with them, but never seen anything like it. Cons: Needs more stuff to do, but good start. Other Thoughts: wats with the hating from the OP, their version is fully free they give us all 3 characters then if we want we can get more skins, but the hole app is free so... there is plenty of free stuff in the app, u dont need the skins to play. Other Thoughts: Since it was "featured freeware" I thought I'd give it a try. For a desktop toy, at first glance it seemed promising but all you can really do is toss them around your screen. There is no interactive edge to it at all, as promised, and next to that the animations are stuttery and rather poor.
Then, the crux: Sparticles is no more "freeware" than any other "demo software" would be, and therefore I do not think it should even be listed on Freewarefiles. It is a demo for the much larger setup of the (currently in beta) "virtual interactive collectibles" - as you can guess, the "collectible" part (called gear) costs money. So.. what is sparticles? A framework and teaser for a commercial venue. A demo of what you can get if you buy stuff from their store. NOT true freeware.
Oh, and on top of that? having a "sparticle" sit on my desktop eats 50MB of ram and 50% CPU, even when just going through the limited idle animation.Was this review helpful? 71 out of 170 users found this review helpful.
