Other Thoughts: Thank you for this cool program my only problem is i cant drag and drop can you teachy me how to do this becuase i like to drag my start menu things around and into other folders and also the mouse wheel doesnt work and it takes me long time to scroll when holding the button down.

Other Thoughts: When i first tried this I was dubious as I never thought of the Start Menu as a one-stop tool for accessing your computer, although Microsoft did try.

Why didn't Microsoft do this from the word go?
This is one of the best programs I've tried all year.
OVERVIEW: WickedOrange (Who I never heard of before today) state on their website that their program will: "take over your Windows Start Menu, and allow you to have only the items you want in there, allowing you to find programs, browse your computer, open MSN Messenger contact windows and many other tasks much more efficiently than usual.
Because smx is totally customisable, it is only limited by your imagination."
Sounds promising...
First Impressions:
It takes over your Start Menu. No surprises there. But it did seem like my Start Menu opened a lot quicker than usual. The standard items are there. Run..., All Programs etc, as well as a few unfamiliar items.
Some included items:
* Desktop (A cascading menu of your desktop). Nice a quick too. No more clicking on the little "show Desktop" button.
* Network Tools: Contains Messenger, RSS Feeds (Penny Arcade provided as default), Network Connections, and Network Computers. All cascading. This is where I get excited. Cascading Network Computers... Do you have any idea how genius a cascading Network Computers menu is? Makes life a lot easier. The cascading Messenger is awesome too.
Two other items that need special mention are the Tasks cascading menu, which shows you all your running tasks and lets you either close them, or set them to be always on top, and the Notes item, which is my personal favorite. An auto-saving, built in notepad! Its an extremely innovative concept.
So thats the program as it comes. But they said that its fully customisable. Took me a minute or two to figure out that there is a notification tray icon. An orange. Themes, Edit Themes, Edit Menu and Plugins reside in there. There are some basic themes built in, and the theme editor is quite good. Extensive, and easy to use, it allows you to make SMX fit in with the rest of your pimped out shell.
Edit Menu is where it gets really, really interesting. You can add and remove every single item. And you can extend it using plugins. Which update on the fly.
I quickly edited my menu to include some programs I use often, and changed the icon sizes around. I also added a few folders I always need to access, and my usual RSS feeds.
BAM, within 20 minutes I had fully customised my Start Menu.
