"Good but not stable"
I run Windows 2000 with an AMD dual core and NVidia graphics card. The program is very fast when rotating rendered objects but crashed frequently. I see no one else has this problem. It may be some unique hardware/software combination that makes it unstable. It does have impressive capabilities for so inexpensive a cost. If it were stable I would rate it at a 4.

"Great 3D tool for the price"
Sure you get a call with an upgrade offer, but you still don't have to pay to use the software. I don't need the extra features, said so, and they leave me alone. I use it to design projects so I know how all the parts fit together before I start cutting the wood. Works great.

This is a promo. You will be called within a couple hours of regestering and they will try to sell you a program that costs more than AutoCAD. Stay away.

Me think Alibre Design Xpress staff may have been spending a few hours reviewing their own product.
Next time do it every few days or so to make it realistic.

"Incredible"
I was very skeptical when I heard about Alibre Design Xpress, but this is truly a full blown 3D parametric modeler similar to SolidWorks or Pro/E. Anyone with an interest in CAD for mechanical design or engineering should try this. You won't be disappointed.

I have years of experience using other CAD packages that go into the $1000s. I was amazed at all the things that i could do with this program. Definitely worth checking it out!!

I'm surprised how much I got for free with Alibre Design Xpress. There are some limitations and ads, but it looks like I'm going to be able to use it for what I need to do.

Best CAD product I've used in the past 15 years. Can't believe they are giving it away for free. The ads were a small inconvenience, but I got rid of them for $49. Compared to the $2500 I paid for the last CAD program I bought, this is peanuts!

"Highly Functional"
Anyone doing mechanical design will find this a real tool to help them. I hadn't heard of the company, Alibre, before, but from the looks of their site, they have been around. This is a 3D tool that helps me to design some tools and fixtures around the shop. The parts can actually join with each other and create motion. Great product!
