"My personal favorite"
I love to to tryout freeware programs..especially graphics/design software. The kinds of editors I like are the basic graphic editors...the 3d and the vector graphics I use less, therefore I haven't had the same kind of exposure to. PhotoFiltre is one of the programs I always keep installed. It isusually my first choice when editing anything graphic. It is one of the rare graphics programs that offer powerful effects in an esy to navigate interface. Graphic editors are very complicated and confusing to learn--PhotoFiltre was one of the first editors I learned to use...it was easy enough to make sense yet powerfull enough to hold my interest. It is the editor I think of before any other, it is the one I rely on to tweak almost all of my graphics...it has proven to be one of the best editors for anyone who requires consistency and quality for their artistic and/or basic graphics.

I just keep coming back to this one for my photos. It's simple, small, fast, has heaps of effects, masks etc and doesn't need java or .net!

"Simply Easy & Light"
I run vindows vista on P4 PC with lack of RAM (512 MB) but this program runs smoothly while i listening to music and chatting. Awesome graphic editor. Small size but many features inside :D

I purchased all of the Adobe Photoshop Elements up until #4. After discovering this jewel, unistalled Adobe, which indexes your memory big time, and start enjoying this great software which is easier to use, effective, and free.
A must have if you work with photos. EXCELLENT!

"Could be better..."
Very good in its freeware version but no multiple layers fonction and even if it's cheap I don't want to upgrade. It's good, and even excellent for basic digital image editing but nowhere close from The Gimp (which is a nightmare to masterise).
Photofiltre is good and easy to use, but lacks some features.
