| "Best Program" The gimp is the best program in freeware. People who say it = to confusing are lazy and dont' like to try to do stuff. Another good program is YSFlight Sim. Wesnoth too

| "Best Open-Source/Freeware Editor" I've used a number of freeware editors and find GIMP to be the most advanced & flexible of the bunch.
Granted their is a learning curve & if you're not familiar with GNU style or want something similar to Photoshop then maybe a quick search for GimpShop might help you.
Some people want the sports car look with bicycle training wheels and the ease of use of a tricycle.

| "I't don't have the sports car feel." I tryed it and I took it right off. If you know other editing sofware you will realise right away that it's over complicated. Are they trying to be differnt than other software I don't know, but it just don't work right from the 10 seperate windows you need running, to the fact that you need to circle things twice every time to make a border that normaly messes up your work.
We need user friendliness people not more unreachable functions.

| "Nice piece of work" I have been using the nig brother of this program for a while now but this smaller program is some sweet piece of work. I love it. It makes my photo retouching chores a snap.

| "Need runtime program" Before you can install this program you need to download a free runtime program then install this file. Once inatalled, you will probably be as impressed as I am with this program. It can run with the big guys anytime. It is also deceptively simple to use. super program.

| "Excellent!" Gimp is a Great Open Source Software Ported from Linux/GNU, Very Powerful and a Much Better Replacment for the common Adobe Photoshop. Besides it will not take much space on ur hard drive, Just about 25 MB compared to Adobe Photoshop which takes around 100 MB! valuable space on your hard disk.
The Nice Look of Tools Too I love alot about Gimp! including the Puppy Logo :)
