"Always try to phone home at startup !" by: Jon K Other Thoughts: Just installed the latest version 0.9.3.3 on WinXP SP3 and ran the program. It tried to connect to the Internet. When blocked by the firewall, it popped up a message "A newer version is out". I wondered how it knew there was a newer version out when its connection to the Internet was blocked by the firewall. From the program settings I cleared the default check mark in "Check for updates". But every time the program is run, it still tries to connect to the Internet. Why does it need to phone home?
