"Uncomplete uninstall"
Maybe it works well but if you decide to uninstall it you will have problems with uncomplete uninstallation. If someone have doubts about that, check the forums on the internet about that subject. There is plenty about it to give up ... by: Boombox | 1 | 2010-01-08 |

"siteadvisor is terrible"
siteadvisor is the most terrible site, they never tell us the truth, they list some dangerous websites as green. flashget is secure and clean since 1.72. I use it for years, its the best download manager to me by: Rhys | 5 | 2007-06-06 |

"v- 1.81.1002"
several things : apparently it does not have a simple "open" or "run" option so i don't have to download the setup on my pc and there is adware software (netcaptor stilesoft, car jet and navigator)...and it is elaborate to fully uninstall...beyond that, yes ..it did download somewhat faster but...presently i'm sometimes using FreeDownloadManager by: mweizer | 2 | 2007-02-04 |

"Is it still ad/spyware?"
As of version 1.72, FlashGet claims to be both freeware and free of ads. Their buy page is now a donation page. I decided to test it.
During the installation FlashGet asked if I wanted to use the ShareUrl service (you can read about the service at www.shareurl.com). I opted out. I'd like to say my choice was to ensure testing integrity, it was really out of suspicion.
After installing FlashGet I scanned my system with Spybot S&D and Spyware Terminator. Neither reported any spyware. I checked for new BHOs using WinInternal's Autoruns. Nothing. I ran Internet Explorer, no new toolbars.
I tested FlashGet by downloading a few things. I watched my firewall's log. FlashGet never connected to any sites except the ones that hosted the files I wanted. It never connected to shareurl.com.
Preliminary testing affirms FlashGet's claims; but based on this program's history I am still wary. I'd appreciate it if other people would test it and post their findings here. by: Guy | 4 | 2006-07-01 |

"Leftovers"
Works OK but installs a toolbar(registry says Google)but it does not uninstall it when removing flashget-we have enough problems now why add a program that adds more? There are pleanty of freeware download managers I would advise staying away from this one.....they used to charge for it so there must be a reason it is now free. by: Shagger1 | 1 | 2006-06-12 |

"Maybe"
Probably should install it before this review but this used to be adware-claims freeware now but I will see as I am downloading it now , but to claim it will download a 20MB file in 20 minutes is not realistic in fact impossible-a 28.8 connection takes an hour for 10 megs on my PC.....I will make a restore point before using this and see what happens......... by: Rodger | 3 | 2006-06-11 |

"Good, not best"
Very nice download manager, now prposed as freeware. Still, not worth FDM (Free Download manager) in my opinion. By the way, *no* download manager is able to multiply download transfer speed by 21 (twenty-one!), as previously mentioned by someone. By 2 would already be fantastic ;) by: Baloney | 4 | 2006-06-11 |
