"Almost the Best"

ZoneAlarm Free Firewall 9.2.106.000
Pros: Below are basically the comments I made for Comodo regarding Vista and Windows7: Almost Excellent!! Almost the best of the best FW. As for those who have problems using it with Vista or Windows 7, the problem is not with ZoneAlarm, but those 2 operating systems. Pros: Excellent program control
Cons: For some reason its been giving me problems on vista and win7 Other Thoughts: Had used this for a few year on an XP os and it was brilliant however when i upgraded to vista it made the PC run slow and eventually crash no matter how much i tried i couldn't get it to work well and ended up uninstalling it, when i upgraded to win 7 i gave it another try and was pleased to see it run well but the problems soon reared their head again, it will randomly freeze with no warning and then requires you to switch off your pc and reboot...it can be fin for a few hours or just over a day but there hasn't been a day where i haven't had to reboot.Was this review helpful? 32 out of 76 users found this review helpful.

Pros: Free Cons: System boots about 10 seconds slower

Pros: Ive used every firewall on this site .......... Protects your system from packets and bombs and other exploits (unwanted drama)lol easy to us too . Reminds me of the Pro version alot DL it/use it (best firewall on freewarefiles) Cons: somtimes it will hang when rebooting your system , It blocks certain websites calling them 'unsecure' like when you try to loggin to youtube it wont let you . "Why do we need this bloat?"

Other Thoughts: I noticed newer versions of this firewall sometimes crash on install, or after install, or appear to be a bit buggy.
The older 3.5 pro works great, & is light on resource use. Never gives a problem installing or using.
Why do we need bigger firewall? The job of the firewall should never change, but stays the same. Filter & drop packets! Why do we need it to include malware scanner, virus scanner, etc, when it is half baked & plus it conflicts with other software we already have for that?
Groan!!! Please! Stick to being just a firewall, please?

"a bug or not ?"

Other Thoughts: I always used zonealarm, but this one has my doubts, not the performance but de software itself.This version on my XP PC creates in de registery 54 ! times the same entrie, also is there something with an active X element 'emprocserver32 ', it has always an error when i does
a registery scan.It is the first time
that i see this ' emprocserver32 ' on
my system.I am sure because all of this my system cache went beserk, i removed the zonealarm and everything that i klicked on my PC seems to speed now up with less HD access also.
Some forums tells ' emprocserver32' could be a 'hidden license check key'.
This zonealarm no thanks,i use now again an older version without any registery
errors or avtive X element errors.
i use 4 well known registery scanners, so they can't miss

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend the free version of the ZoneAlarm firewall. First, it is a very basic product compared to the commercial ZoneAlarm Pro version. The leak-test performance of the latest free version is extremely poor, whereas the Pro version is excellent. The download also includes the large commercial ZoneAlarm suite, so be careful not to install it. Other Thoughts: This program is working fine. saw previous review. so I used windows add remove and zone alarm uninstalled just fine and then I installed chrome just fine. His problem must be Revo.
