"Crap!!"

Other Thoughts: Shareaza 2.5.1.0 is a crap P2P file sharing app! I spent the better part of an hour installing and customizing Shareaza. Everything looked good. So I ran a test search for "Madonna" audio files. Shareaza returned over 300 search results on the 3 P2P networks. Looking good! Then the wheels came off the cart! Over the course of 30 mins, I successfully downloaded 2, count 'em, 2 audio files! Note: I'm a very experienced P2P user. So, silly me, I over-installed Shareaza. Results: The same! I'm running XP Pro 32 bit with an AMD 3gig dual core processor and 4gigs of RAM on high-speed DSL. Bottom line: Shareaza is a piece of crap so don't even waste your time. I wasted my time for you! Other Thoughts: Just to clarify, Shareaza is the same great P2P software that it has alway been, some company hijacked their old address. Their new address is http://shareaza.sourceforge.net

Other Thoughts: Excellent for p2p and torrent filesharing. It can take a bit of tech-savvy to configure (especially if you're behind a restrictive firewall or router) - you may need to set up firewall exceptions and port-forwarding, but that applies to any p2p software, and how-to instructions are available on their online guide. Also, be aware of what you're downloading and apply a bit of common sense to your search results. A 50kB 'music' file isn't large enough to be an mp3 track... virus, anyone? As before though, this applies to all p2p software though. In 4 years I've never had a malware infection from any filesharing, and of the different packages I've used, Shareaza is the best. Other Thoughts: i think i would give this one a miss. i tried it for two days and after downloading 7 files, 3 of them were viruses. some sites have removed shareaza now from their download section as its such a risk. when i did a routine scan with a squared it detected no less than 30 traces of spyware all related to shareaza. utter trash. Other Thoughts: Shareaza and many P2P programs have been ahving problems with Gnutella lately, and if you follow the steps on Shareaza's site you can easily get it working. Other Thoughts: slow no matter what computer you are on.i have tried this on so many computer for so long.crap...
you have to mess with it to get it to connect to servers..its a waste of time..
