 | "Beware! Spamware!" I have a simple question: why should I provide my email since the program is free? FIRST they ask for email and AFTER they ask you if you want to be notified by email about their crapware! Of course, the 'Yes, notify me' option is clicked by default, hoping you won't notice and press 'Next'.
Does this make sence to you?
Why do I need to give an email in order to use a "freeware" program?
Just do a couple of little tests.
Create a fresh email account, register to one ore more ashampoo products, and come back in a month to check your email. Taraaa! Dozens of spam, 'oh, please, buy me', 'a great offer just for you', etc.
All ashampoo products try to be so attractive, that turn to be ugly. Funny interface, poor functionality, big price in shareware products.
I wonder how could it be possible for a new company that comes from nowhere, to develop SO many different "great" products.
REMEMBER: If someone is asking for your email, somebody wants your money. Simple.
Thanks to this site, we find tons of great real freeware. We don't need ashampoo crapware.
Make another test: Install the Ashampoo "Firewall" and go online to make some firewall tests. The result is funny. Maybe as effective as Windows Firewall is, i.e. not effective at all.
I had almost all Ashampoo products from magazine offers. I tried them all. I didn't keep any of them.
Stay away from Ashampoo. You have been warned.
