Other Thoughts: The BEST browser for windows.
Sorry, Opera fans!
Although Opera DOES have some handy features, a lot of them you will never use. Good job, Firefox! Simplicity & enabling the most commonly used features is king!
For portability, it is true, Firefox is terrible for that! Firefox is about 5 or 6 megs & unpacked, probably a lot more.
There is a FREE program that is only 220 kb that can run from flash drives AND erase all tracks from the web when using it.
Just go to http://www.browzar.com/
Get the windows version, for an even smaller one. 210 kb. Small, fast, cleans up after itself, tabbed browsing, what more can you want?
P.S. It allows you to use a custom homepage, that it stores in the application directory. I used winrar & icon sushi. Take icon sushi, rip the icon from the browzar proggie. Try to get as close to 32 height, 32 width, 32 bit color as you can.
Use winrar to make a silent SFX that dumps the google (or whatever your homepage preference is) to the app dir. Then go to start/run/iexpress to combine the 2 packages, make the rar dumper load first, then the browzar.
Open rar one last time, get it to launch the package you created, give it that icon you extracted, maybe put up a question such as Run Browzar? & it gives a yes or no question.
When you are done, you should end up with a total size of about 310 kb total, so it is small, quick, runs great off a flash drive, has the right icon, & the title bar should show Company / Product / Version.
This will solve all your portability problems.
Please be aware, that even though this proggie does clean up your tracks, people using professional data recovery programs or techniques can still recovery "deleted" files.
So only go to sites you know you feel safe if others find out about.
Be happy, be safe, have fun!Was this review helpful? 62 out of 128 users found this review helpful.

Other Thoughts: Portable version daves data in the data folder under its own installation Dir... not in the path suggested by Rodger. Was this review helpful? 64 out of 128 users found this review helpful.

Other Thoughts: Need no installation-just delete the firefox folder in documents and settings/user name/application data/mozilla - then you can try a newer version-if you dont like it then delete that stuff again and use old version-addons may sometimes not work with any new version of firefox. Was this review helpful? 67 out of 128 users found this review helpful.

Other Thoughts: i have been using this program for 2 Weeks already in my Memory Stick Pro Duo and a card Reader. it's Fast, reliable and doesn't suffer from the terrifying problems of Internet Explorer, honestly:) i loved everything about this browser especially since it's capable of utilizing themes and there are lots of themes available at the moment. downloading plug-ins had never been easier with Firefox just click the install plug ins and voila! you can work with your browser trouble free:)Was this review helpful? 60 out of 119 users found this review helpful.
