"Great for My Internet Access!" by: Aimee
Other Thoughts: I have dial-up with an accelerator form the same company and the Google makes it much faster after turning off the company's accelerator. Even Myspace is loading faster! MAybe these other people need to check their computer's software or see what system they're tring to run it on. All I know is it works great with my high speed internet phone cord and Windows XP.Was this review helpful? 32 out of 71 users found this review helpful.

"solved TCP/IP problems" by: Easywalker
Other Thoughts: after configuring of my new WLAN-Router (Netgear) my Internet connection slowed significantly down. Internet pages opened very slowly or many times didn't open at all. I've had to restart my PCevery 60-90 minutes. Winamp couldn't stay more than 5 min. connected to the broadcaster. "Advanced Windows Care Pro." couldn't fined any problems.
GWA fixed up my broken Internet connection in 5 seconds! Internet sites are opening lightning fast (firebox browser) now! The only problem I have is with Kaspersky Firewall (in Training mode GWA seem not to work properly)

"To the Dopes who Download This Trash!" by: Giggling Madly Here
Other Thoughts: This is a great program for those users who don't know anything about how computers and/or the internet works, and/or just want to experience the "feel good illusion" of (not really) increased speed by having an entirely useless acceleration program on their hard drive.
Still you've got to admire Google's chutzpa here; I’m guessing that it has to be the most hilarious bit of shell-game spyware ever invented by any company in the entire history of computer or Internet use and development. Very clever really, when you consider that the trade off is that users "think" they're getting "increased" internet speed; in exchange for revealing exact the name of every single webpage that you ever visit from the moment that you install Google Web Accelerator until (hopefully) the moment you wise up and remove it.
After Google Web Accelerator is installed it does absolutely nothing to improve browsing. All it does is collect and store a gazillion MB of temp files every time you use it for a session of surfing; and Google gets to know the exact the name of every single webpage that you ever visit for products, news, banking, whatever! This is very valuable information to have; not only does Google know everything you click on, but you get zero in exchange for this info.
Had he lived long enough to see this, P.T. Barnum; the person who coined the phrase: "A Sucker is Born Every Minute" would most certainly consider those who download, install and leave this program on their computers to be suckers indeed! Was this review helpful? 31 out of 75 users found this review helpful.

"Good -- but..." by: CharlieOrlando
Other Thoughts: Google's Web Accelerator (GWA) reallyd does work. I have a broadband connection and, for the most part, there has been a slight decrease in web site loading times. However, I've also experienced some problems with sites that simply won't load at all with GWA enabled. So, this utility is clearly still a "work in progress." It's useful -- but maybe a bit too quirky, performance-wise, for most users. Was this review helpful? 33 out of 76 users found this review helpful.
