The layout and features are nice, but if you use a lot of tabs, the browser quickly grinds your system to a halt as it opens a new copy of itself for every tab, taking a log of memory - definitely needs a lot of work yet before it's a good alternative player in the browser world.

Webkit in this "so called browser" is destroyed. It should be listed under reportware, or spyware this thingy.
What was tested? They have monitored Google Chrome`s behavior with network protocol analyzer tool and here are the results:

But why is this even as popular as it is? It's definitely better than the other Webkit browser (Safari) but it's not any better than Firefox or Opera 10.
All the rabid Chrome fanboys need to man up and admit that if Chrome sported a more standard look no one would even have farted when this thing walked onto the scene. Let this gimicky crap rot until Google makes it a real and complete piece of software.

This program would be the best of all the browsers in my opinion. The only thing is you would think that there would be a "GOOGLE SEARCH BAR" built into the toolbar, or the option to turn it on, there just isn't one there..... And this is GOOGLE Chrome....

ssj5_ultraNoOb and Kim Diesel do _not_ know what they are talking about. Chrome and Safari are built on WebKit, which is _not_ the FireFox engine or Internet Explorer in disguise. It is a new, open-source platform for rendering web pages. This is why public rating systems can fail, because people that have no knowledge of what they are talking about can rate a program. Does that website say that it is the "FireFox Engine"? Nope. All I can say is that Chrome is getting better and better. There are extensions, but you need to enable that by changing the shortcut to add a command. The only extension that I know of is AdSweep, which actually works better than AdBlock Plus on FireFox.

I use to use FF and IE, but I have switched to Chrome because it is faster. It starts up almost instantly, while IE and FF are noticeably slower at starting up. Also, the interface to Chrome is so much smaller and less obtrusive. It just works and stays out of the way.

Opera design on a firefox engine...
Opera has the fastest engine, so why use firefox as the engine base? Oh yeah, opera is not open source.
Why make a copy of the two that is inferior to either one.
Im sure google has enough money and resources to come up with something more original if not better.

First of all come on people give google a chance! Sure they may not be as big as Firefox or Internet Explorer but they sure in the heck have a good idea what a good web browser is all about! Remember this browser is brand new so it will take some time for them to add some new features. I think so far they have come a long ways and the browsers rating will eventually go up and Chrome will become more popular. I am also a Firefox and Internet Explorer supporter but I am not criticizing Google for not being as good as other browsers.
