Pros: Very fast browsing, and an easy interface gui, that makes it easy to navigate through all the menus. Cons: If you would like to use it on Social places like Wordpress, VodPod for ex, it constantly hangs and won’t load apps as it was meant to. It must be a simple thing to fix. I wrote to the Opera team several of times since version 9 where I first discovered this error. But NOTHING happens. Other Thoughts: Could need a few more extensions like “copy plain text” and some more security features, also they should replace the default search providers, against Ixquick.com or Startpage.comWas this review helpful? 16 out of 33 users found this review helpful.
| | 2012-01-26 | | | | "Still the best" by: Hoppy Opera Web Browser 11.60 Final
Pros: Quickest browser out there, tons of toys, light, fairly easy to use.. Cons: None worth a damn.. Other Thoughts: I have tried them all and this is still the best by a long way..!
Opera suffers as todays pc users want a browser with a kiddie interface with tons of toys that spies on you..
Chrome users can bang on all day at how quick it is, my money is on Opera, its a lot quicker.
But to say its better because its faster would be petty.
Its lighter, much lighter than Chrome and Opera is safe out the box..
Chrome is a walking security risk and Firefox has as many holes as Explorer..
I have never had any Malware infections using Opera, install it and set the pop up blocker to high and its pretty secure.
Opera has enough widgets and extensions to keep me happy and plenty of skins to keep it fresh.
The other ones may have a zillion add ons but most are a load of crap or downright malicious..
If you take a little time, you would be suprised at what Opera can do.
Ive never had any major problems recently with pages not loading, in this version i have had none at all.
The only other browser that comes close is probably Pale Moon, its a pretty solid package but its been update mania recently and with every update it seems to get heavier...

Pros: New M2 redesign: mail looks much better, clean interface and easy as usual.
Browser is faster, better html5 render, more stable here on win7 x64. Cons: Still some problems with some web sites (whether is Opera's fault or not, this still happens.) Other Thoughts: I'm using Opera 95% over FF or Chrome now. Mainly because of M2 that completely replaced Thunderbird. After M2 I then used the browser as well and started to enjoy other little features like the good integration with the built-in notes, the terrific Dragonfly (I mean, how cool is it?! bye bye Firebug!), etcetera. Was this review helpful? 22 out of 42 users found this review helpful.

| | 2011-09-01 | | | | "its good but its also a pain to use." by: jerry Opera Web Browser 11.50 Final
Pros: very quick, easy install, most things work. Cons: its a number of little things that take much effort to sort out! Other Thoughts: I sort off liked Opera and was using it as a possible alternative to Explorer but their were some issues that really annoyed me.
I am not a computer expert but i know enough to fix most pc problems but i don't expect to trawl through pages of Google just to make my browser work the way i want it!
First came bookmark issues, Opera simply refused to store my passwords for them which meant typing it in every time i logged on, i have dozens of bookmarks with passwords so it became a right pain.
When i posted a question about it i got an explanation that left me even more confused.
Then Opera simply failed to log onto certain pages that every other browser i tried had no issues with.
I saw the other reviewer who explained how to fix this but your average pc user would simply give up trying to understand these things.
It should simply work out the box which is probably why its not as big as it could be.
Version updates were a major pain in the ass as Opera like to hide things for no reason whatsoever.
In one update my main menu bar vanished as it was now hidden at default and the last update removed the home button for reasons that are beyond me.
"people like things to remain the same" if they wanna change it then let them do it by themselves.
Its also set to auto update each version which sounds ok but when this happens every few months it gets very annoying.
Again,, when it auto updates your passwords vanish.
These points may sound petty but when they all build up it becomes too much hassle..Was this review helpful? 42 out of 85 users found this review helpful.
| | 2011-07-31 | | | | "this is a quick browser" by: bob Opera 11.11
Pros: fast, good interface, decent add ons, lightest on power i have tried, very good security. Cons: does have problems loading the odd page and scrolling isnt very smooth.
Other Thoughts: Waw,,ive been using Opera for 2 months now and i wish i had found it years ago as its the best ive used yet,,by a long way.
People keep saying Chrome is the fastest but i found Opera to be much quicker.
Speed isnt my primary attraction but the speed Opera runs at is impressive.
I tried Chrome recently and noticed it consumed a lot of ram, especially if you installed a few add ons, Opera is much lighter with many widgets installed.
Security is brilliant, set your pop up blocker to high and you already have a safer browser than the other lot which require add ons to simply make it perform right.
Opera performs well straight out the box but you can add as many widgets as you like.
The interface is how a browser should look and it has some of the best themes i have ever seen with plenty to choose from.
It does struggle with the odd page but this is easy fixed and like i said, it was only a few..
Someone else mentioned scrolling which is an annoying niggle as its not that smooth.
The pros hammer the minor cons and if you spend a little time getting to know Opera, you will find that its the best kept secret in pc history..

| | 2011-04-13 | | | | "Decent" by: Jenny Opera 11.10 RC 2
Pros: Fast Cons: No right click + t for new tab? Other Thoughts: Firefox & Chrome both have right click + t to open a new tab.
Opera? Where are you? LOL! Ok, I can't use this browser with no right click way to open tabs!
Even if there is another way, need to standardize the controls like other browsers do!
Thanks!
P.S. And fix the "shrinking" tab problem where a user has diminishing tabs that shrink to impossible to click on sizes! Was this review helpful? 60 out of 160 users found this review helpful.
| | 2011-04-09 | | | | "Superb, as usual" by: Ray Martin Opera 11.10 RC 2
Pros: I've been using Opera for some years now and, in my opinion, it beats all other browsers hands down. It's totally configurable and offers excellent tools for ad blocking - so good in fact that I hardly ever see them. It's always a rude shock when I'm forced to view favourite pages in something nasty like I.E. I know there are many Firefox fans out there but Opera's extensions and widgets are second to none. Cons: None. Give it a try Other Thoughts: NoneWas this review helpful? 60 out of 110 users found this review helpful.

| | 2011-04-08 | | | | "Good" by: Jake Opera 11.10.2033 Beta
Pros: - Fast
- Looks Good
- Free Cons: - Interface a bit kludgy
- Could be improved in several areas
- "Needle Tabs" Other Thoughts: I rated Opera as 3 instead of 5, because I do feel it has areas to greatly improve upon.
True, it is a fast browser, & true it is stable. Although, I have had it crash with me, as well as any other browser.
To be fair, usually after opening a few hundred tabs. Internet Explorer 8 falls out of the picture around 4 to 20 tabs when trying to see how stable it is.
Leaving only Firefox, Opera, Chrome, & Safari in the game.
Have had up to 1,610 tabs open in Firefox. Opera & Chrome both suffer from what I call "needle" thin tabs.
Fix this please! Look how nicely firefox scrolls from side to side, no itsy bitsy tabs you cannot even see on the screen. Firefox is the champ here.
Come on Opera. Show us you can do better!
We need tabs that won't disappear when we open a lot of them!
Thank you!Was this review helpful? 58 out of 121 users found this review helpful.
