"Contained a Trojan Horse - Problems Uninstalling!" by:"Lisa the Geekette"
Other Thoughts:I was excited to try this program and I quickly discovered that JeniuS isn't only a multimedia files organizer; it also includes the JMediaPlayer (multimedia files player) as well as a batch file renamer, image viewer and files list creator. JeniuS appeared to work well and the JMediaPlayer included with the download sounded great and the program did do everything the developer claimed it would.
However, I uninstalled JeniuS due to the fact that a trojan horse showed up during a routine Anti Worm 1.009.0153 about a week after I had installed it.
Good Lord you would not believe the number of dead entries and other leftovers that were left in my Windows registry after attempting to uninstall it! Even though the JeniuS uninstaller claimed "JeniuS Completely Removed" there were literally hundreds of entries left in my Windows registry as well as other places; that still had to be removed after the uninstall.
I had to run CCleaner four times to remove most of the dead entries and even this did not completely remove all of them so I ran the freeware utility called Eusing Free Registry Cleaner to get rid of the rest of them. Additionally, according to the developer's webpage; the guide to the main functions of JeniuS is currently available only in the Italian language.
