"Refreshing!"
by: J. Mannion
Soundbase 2010.11.08

Pros: Simple to use. No nonsense, just gets the job done.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: After years of tinkering with large, over-written and bloated programs this is a breath of fresh air. Just simple and nice.

"still buggy but ..."
by: Tunafish

Other Thoughts: it's portable!
(that's why it will right a config play wherever you start it from)
"Soundbase doesn't use any registry entries but stores all in one ini file, it is completelly anonymous, it can run from any location with limited user access rights"
So only for that i'll give it 4/5!

"Fair"
by: Junk Buster

Other Thoughts: Just use KM Player for playing music, and Infra-recorder to burn it.

Still more duplicate rubbish! At least these don't have as many bugs as Soundbase!

"Slow as a wet week"
by: Thunderbox

Other Thoughts: Yup, I tried this and like all the others it was found wanting - slow as on my collection of 25,000 tracks. Probably 'cos it's got java in it (at least it's not .net!). I'll stick with 1by1 - it's lean, fast and sounds great even though it looks like s***. If I want looks I'll still use Teen Spirit.

"Nice Anachronism"
by: watermark

Other Thoughts: This is a nice piece of programming design. Pity about the emphasis on albums which is fast becoming an anachronism. I will still use 1by1 to play directly from filefolders and not waste time on all this extra bs.

"Flawed"
by: Ray Martin

Other Thoughts: Continues to run in the background when closed and can only be stopped via Windows Task Manager.
If you run it from a desktop shortcut, it places a config file there as well. If you select the option to search for album art, the programme seems to be unuseable for anything else until it stops searching (which is never, forcing you back to the Task Manager again. Sloppy coding spoils a nice try.

"Very good alround tool"
by: RickYZ

Other Thoughts: Well, I have used it now for a month or so, and I really like this software. It tags, organizes, adds album art, has a nice graphical interface that can be skinned or fits into your windows skin. And it is very very fast. It has a build in player, equalizer. Very nice work.
