I have used this for a few years now, through most of the updates..and to coin a phrase "it does exactly as is says on the tin". If you don't use this Why not? It's the best on the freeware market, and easy to use.

"Great Software"
Great software, I use it on my computer all the time.
Sad thing is, they fixed one of the 'bugs' with version 1.0.0:
When you clicked Fast Forward on version 0.9.9, the video would go faster and the sound would change pitch at the same speed as the video. I miss that :(

VLC media player can play any video file that I have used it on.
Unlike other players like Micro$ofts Media Player that requires a library of codecs VLC requires none.

please developer of vlc[videolan]do something like 0.8.6 builds for saving custom settings of audio equalizer otherwise have to adjust again and again before opening any kind of files in 0.9.8 builds which returns to default and that is flat sound.

This is hands down the best media player on the market. It's versatile and works on every operating system thus far. I work in IT for a living and I've tried every conceivable media player out there. Trust me, this is the best!!!

after opening one file to another the adjustable custom settings of audio equalizer returns to default and that is flat so bad, but it doesnot happen in case of 0.8.6 version then the adjustable settings of audio equalizer remains the same if opening one file to another

"Pretty good media player!"
VLC Media Player is overall a pretty good player. This program does have some minor bugs but still is a pretty decent program. The sound quality in this program is excellent which is why I give VLC Media Player a 4/5.
