"its a simple little player" by: stuart Gom Player 2.1.28.5039
Pros: simple to use, clean interface, plays most video files.. Cons: You have to download the codec for mp3,, its terrible at playing dvd's. Other Thoughts: Overall this is not a bad little video player. If you want to listen to mp3 then as others have stated you need to download a codec.
I don't really see a problem there, as any serious music fans wouldn't use a player like this for audio anyway.
The interface is very simple to understand and clean, it comes with a few extra skins.
My main problem was its refusal to play dvd files,it just refuses which is the only thing that lets it down.
It doesn't have the advancement or depth of VLC but if you want a simple player its worth a go...Was this review helpful? 28 out of 57 users found this review helpful.

"Learning curve proggy" by: farpointstation Gom Player 2.1.28.5039
Pros: Gom Player 2.1.28.5039 is my video player of choice and I have 3 multimedia/audio/video players installed. I use Gom Player 2.1.28.5039 strictly as a video player, although it does include audio codecs. I use AIMP and Media Player Classic as my audio players. The quality of the video is excellent, even in full screen mode on my "cheapie" 19 inch flat panel monitor. I rarely have to use another video player because Gom Player 2.1.28.5039 includes most popular video codecs. Cons: The GUI is a little "hinky" and takes a bit of a learning curve. A couple of uses and you'll be a pro! Other Thoughts: Gom Player 2.1.28.5039 is an excellent video player! Was this review helpful? 40 out of 123 users found this review helpful.

"Please make this product usable" by: Cdhead
Other Thoughts: Product looks good, but the interface is impossible to use. An arrow with a vertical line should mean next track: not on this program. Lots of menuitems with no functionality (e.g. size internetbrowser, de-installation guide). Was this review helpful? 66 out of 123 users found this review helpful.

"well, support isn't great..." by: Gorlash
Other Thoughts: I was using this for awhile and was happy with it, until I tried to play .MOV files taken with my camera. Video played, but no sound. Other players have no problem with these files. I posted a message to the bug-report forum but have gotten no response. Switched to another video player. Was this review helpful? 72 out of 132 users found this review helpful.

Other Thoughts: It's pretty good but it's a shame that you cannot move forward or backward frame by frame. Pretty often looking at movie clips (motion graphics clip) you want to focus on one particular frame.
I stay on the old, great classic media player, that also comes in x64 verion. Was this review helpful? 61 out of 158 users found this review helpful.

"Terrific" by: John
Other Thoughts: + Free
+ Easy
+ Great looks
+ Now it DOES play MP3 files
*Update - A couple of versions back, it refused to play any MP3 files, reguardless of bitrate & called for a "plugin".
It refused to find a working MP3 plugin however, & would not play them.
Kudos to them for including MP3 support this time, as a few versions prior, on their website, they listed it as not supporting MP3 due to it being "licensed" or some other stuff.
