"Eusing Free Registry Cleaner 1.8"
Out of the free registry cleaners that I have tried and tested this is the one that I use. Easy to use, scans in the right places and is not to aggressive. The scan results are fast and identical to free window registry repair 1.5 which allows you to delete empty registry keys which eusing does not have. By default an automatic backup is provided, but I always create a manual system restore point before using, just in case the program messes up your computer you have something to fall back on do not always rely on the backup. by: M. | 5 | 2008-05-21 |

You're right, not all registry cleaners will kill your system, some of them are safe.
But...
None of them will improve performance!
Then why use them at the first place?
Read again what Mark Russinovich (a real Windows expert!) is saying:
"A few hundred kilobytes of unused keys and values causes no noticeable performance impact on system operation. Even if the registry was massively bloated there would be little impact on the performance of anything other than exhaustive searches."

"registry cleaning is useless & dangerous"
Jeus, what you're suggesting here isn't really legal. because there's a licence to those softwares that you're actually breaking by doing this method. Second thing is that i'm not sure it will work, those commercials developers knows how to hide their stuff even from ZSoft Uninstaller.
Third thing, you should read what Mark Russinovich (from SysInternals/Microsoft) writes about registry cleaners - free or commercial, it doesn't really matter because all of them are overrated and won't gain you an icreased performance (while a small mistake can kill your system):
"A few hundred kilobytes of unused keys and values causes no noticeable performance impact on system operation. Even if the registry was massively bloated there would be little impact on the performance of anything other than exhaustive searches."

"There are alternatives!"
Well, I don't believe in free registry cleaners. Let's use some logic. Developing a registry cleaner is a very boring and complicated task, so you must be paid to do it. Some individuals create a scan engine and they launch a program, but it seems very stupid for me to install and wait for the crash.
So, is there a hope? I say yes!
There are very good commercial products that we can use for free. How?
First of all, do a little research and find commercial registry cleaners or utilities suits (I prefer TuneUp Utilities 2007) that are trialware and FULLY functional.
Download ZSoft Uninstaller from this site, install it and monitor the installation of the trialware product through ZSoft Uninstaller (See in Help how this is done-it's very easy).
When the commercial program is about to expire, uninstall it through ZSoft, and re-install the same way. The program won't be able to see the previous traces of itself, thus you 'll have 30 days more.
It is legal, it is easy, it is free. by: Jeus | 2 | 2007-10-03 |

"best of all - BUT"
Don't expect your system is getting faster after using this (perhaps you will have an improvement of 0,00001%

"v- 1.5 beta"
It's "good" ; however, of the many freeware of this catagory worth mentioning RegSeeker is the most thorough and balanced registry scanner i've come across; followed by Neo Utilitis. Baku is deep on Classes Root but lacking on the Local Machine key -side. Eusing and Free Window Registry Repair are virtually identical in results both lacking on the Classes Root key -side by: mweizor | 3 | 2007-03-17 |
