WD Officepad 1 (Build 1350)

2015-02-04

Pros:

Hi @compmend, seems you've not really gotten through and used to the UI of this simple application. First, to save a note, when you click on the save icon, a list of options pops-up from where you can choose how to save it, and it works perfectly. Also, you can press on "CTRL+S" to do the same. Second, i don't really understand or know how you proceeded with the Upgrading process, but mine worked perfectly well. You only need to press on the "upgrade" button after the Upgrader's interface has been shown, then select the previous folder where WD Officepad was at or in-short, the folder that you extracted from the zip file to run the app, e.g "C:My DocumentsWD Officepad 1" and you're ready to go! Otherwise, just follow-up on the official blog site: http://www.wdofficepad.blogspot.com. Hope this helps any other existing users out there... Otherwise, i love this app. I use it for all my note-taking adventures and so far it's amazingly simple, intuitive, clean, beautiful and really functional. I love it!

Cons:

Hmm, let's just say it fits it's sole purpose...and that's being a personal note editing tool.

Other Thoughts:

The more i use it, the more i love it. Can't wait for future versions to come. There's more i want from this nice app and i know it's gonna grow real BIG.

WD Officepad 1 (Build 1350)

Pros:

This program is easy on the eyes. The layout and font used is very appealing and makes writing a pleasure. The menu icons are nicely drawn and intuitive.

Cons:

Upon opening the application the first time I was met by a question are you a new user, if so it wanted to offer a tutorial I chose no and the app was stuck on an upgrade screen, it failed to upgrade over and over, it just would not work. I had to restart the app and choose the tutorial to get to the program. I then created and clicked the save icon, which when I checked the document it was completely empty (the program failed to save my data). I had to click "Save As" each time to actually save the data. I used the program to take notes all day. This morning I was greeted by the "upgrade" screen again and this time it said the upgrade succeeded, then the program gave a "stopped working" error.

Other Thoughts:

Program has the potential to be great when the bugs and kinks are worked out of it. Right now I wouldn't use it for any project that was vital, only for quick reminders or notes.

WD Officepad 1.0.1121

Pros:

Good word wrapping.

Cons:

Large-window saved documents always open in the smaller window when reloaded. Icons appear to have no text beneath them.

Other Thoughts:

Lots of work to do, yet, but this application will grow, a lot, next year, I suspect.
