I have been using NoteTab Light for over five years and it has gotten better over time.
I highly recommend this editor!!

This is a nice editor, except for one issue... if you have a debugger running when you open it (or if you start up a software debugger while NoteTab is running), it will crash *both* programs!!
According to the NoteTab developer, they did that to keep people from hacking the editor. Interestingly, they ONLY have this limitation on the free version, not on the paid version (or so they claim)... I guess they don't care if people hack their paid programs!!
Anyway, if you *are* a software developer, you'll want to pass on this one and look elsewhere.

It doesn't support UNICODE "fully". Notepad++ and the little Notepad2 do though.

their are many more word programs that are better than this like:
AbiWord 2.4.1, Angel Writer v3.0, Fun4Word v1.60. and for dial up people it do not take too long to download.

I've been using this as my default text editor on all my Windows machines for the last 5 years.
