 | "Dont use the new version" I have used the 2007 version of FreeComamnder for over a year now and LOVED it. After installing the new 2008 version on all my computers I found that the new FreeCommander crashes all the time (many times per day/hour). I removed it and re-installed the old 2007 version which runs great. AVOID THE NEW 2008 VERSION.

 | "Very Customizable... and has a searching tool that burns the hair of your nose..." It is a very good software... doesn't have a nice skinable interface, but opens very fast and has integration with the context menu of Windows Explorer, allowing you to open it conveniently with a mouse secondary click.
As the previous reviewer said, its searching feature is "blastastic". Nice, nice, nice, very, very nice!!!
That's it...

 | "Excellent search function" Brilliant replacement for Windows Explorer in Vista, especially when searching for file by name, by date etc. Am I the only one who would dump Vista if they could ? !!

 | "superb! but need 'view hidden files' button" This is my favorite apps to replace win explorer, but it's great if the developer add a simple one-click button to hide/view hidden files. It's not to practical if i have to hide/view hidden files from the 'setting' menu.

 | "Recommand with pleasure" I use this commander for some years, it is now full featured for me. Directory-folder handling is unique, customizable, total keyboard support, zip/rar usage, batch rename, ftp and more...

 | "Two Years of use...." I was a "FileAnt" user for the longest time, until I found Free Commander. This is a step up from that.
The best part is it works from my thumb drive.

 | "Excellent" I've tried many file managers, and FreeCommander is in my opinion the best of free ones (even the great xplorer2 lite). Stable and with lot of cool features (recently added FTP client and multirename utility).
However English help file is somewhat outdated (2005), so some users may have difficulties using recently added features

 | "Best general windows utility" I dont award a 5 with ease! Other user here report q-dir as good, but it does nothing more than standard explorer. Other reports xyplorer best, but its not free and IMHO, no better. You can do so many functions with Freecommander, and with a short learning curve it is fantastic. Thank you so much author of FC.
