| "Simply the best" Renamer is the easiest and one of the most powerful renaming programs available. The screenshot on FreewareFiles is old, these are updated screenshots here:

The bottom pane is the list of files to be renamed, and it allows you to preview the new file names before actually renaming the files. The top pane is an ordered list of actions to take for renaming the files. There are simple rules like replace / remove, and more advanced rules including regex and pascalscript.

| "Nice" Spent 5 minutes with this program. Could not understand the interface - but looks like all the normal options for a utility of this genre.
Current favorite is "FileRenamer." lite.
