Tested the UpdateStar and delivers what is says. I also tried the free Packs the offer to easily set up a PC'S software setup. Quite nice, as I do not have to think and search for programs on a hundred different sites anymore.

This kind of software help us to get latest updates for the softwares we have installed on our system. Even we do forget at times that we have to update our softwares.......it's marvellous.

"Waste of time"
I tried it, and if I continued using it, I would have spent more time sifting through updates that weren't really updates than I would... Using my computer for anything else. The problem is that in many cases, version info is interpreted incorrectly by UpdateStar. Thus, I found a huge pile of bogus "updates" that weren't. Discerning them from the legitimate updates was far, far from worth the trouble.

The app works. Seems to acquire updates for relatively obscure freeware and other software. Smooth interface. Seems well designed, congrats dev team.

For a beta version, this does not rate a low 1 star... It works well.
When the database is built-up, more applications will be recognised and its usefullness wil skyrocket!
For software already recognised, this is a fantastic product.. highly recomended.

Doesn't recognize most programs and the ones it says to update, do not need it! Good idea though!
