"Just gets better!"

I have also been using FreeFileSync to backup the entire drive as it supports shadow copy function, incremental backups at that! If I need to copy a backup back to C: drive I run it portably under Bart PE. I keep the portable version on the root of all the drives/partitions and run it from there under Bart PE,as you can't actually integrate it into the Bart PE disk (well I can't anyway). Works great, only does the data, doesn't matter if the target is smaller. I don't need to use Ghost anymore. Brilliant sync program, thanks to the author for making this free!

"Wonderful!"

Although many people use this only for sync jobs with folders, have found that this utility also supports shadow copying for "hot" copying.

Drive Image XML had no trouble making an image of a 160 GB drive that had 12 GB data on it, but gave me the error that it could not copy to a "smaller" target drive (80 gb) because it included free space too?

This gem copied only the DATA, & about 15 min or less later, I was up, running, ready to go!

If you want to "clone" a drive without losing any data, this is the way to go!

Be sure to go into options & select mirror first!

The author deserves a warm thank you, or perhaps a donation if you are able.

This saved me a lot!

"Same error as previous reviewer!"

I get a configuration error with this version 2.0.,both installer & portable versions, never had a problem with previous versions. I still give it a 5 rating in the hope it will be fixed shortly!

"Won't load"

Great program but the new version doesn't load here - it gives an error message instead. I had to revert to version 1.19...

"Slows down"

I like this. Simple and it works. But I have 40-50,000 files I wanted to synch (no I am not a business user!) and after only a few thousand FreeFileSynch slows to a crawl. I eventually gave up and use Cobian Backup instead. It's not a synch program but it does the job fast.

"So easy to use!"

I used the old free edition of SyncBack so far (SyncBack SE 3.2.18.0) which works well. But its not further developped anymore and also not handy in setting up batch jobs. So I was looking for another free alternative, preferably Open Source. I found two gems: Synkron and FreeFileSync, both very solid. However, I decided for FreeFileSync because it's MUCH easier to use than anything else and for sure enough to satisfy my needs. If you need more powerful (but also more complicated) functions, then go for Synkron. But keep in mind that so far there is no documentation or whatsoever for Synkron. I guess for most users FreeFileSync is the better choice, because of it's ease of use.

"Excellent!"

I have to agree with previous reviewer, Shodan.

I too have tried many file sync programs, but this seems to be by far the simplest, easiest, & best I have used to date!

Love it!

"It's GREAT"

I've tried many file sync utilities, both freeware and shareware, and this one ranks up there with the best of them. All the features I want and portable too! THANK YOU!
