"Hidden Files" by: Rodger FreeFileSync 4.2
Pros: works as advertised and easy to use Cons: puts hidden db file in every folder you use it with-in folder options un check show hidden files and folders. Other Thoughts: should be a setting to turn that off-do we need more hidden junk on our computers? Heck No !!! (grin)Was this review helpful? 17 out of 35 users found this review helpful.

"Neat Application" by: silvertop FreeFileSync 3.11
Pros: Great file / folder sync. Does a fast and through job of matching data. Very user friendly. Better than most of the others and its free. Cons: None Other Thoughts: A lot of programs out there but this one is one of the best. I did a windows 7 user file sync of over 100 gigs without a hitch not even a hiccup. Get it, you will like it.Was this review helpful? 60 out of 121 users found this review helpful.

"room for improvement" by: Maggie
Other Thoughts: This freeware is great and I love it. However, there is room for improvement:
when source are target files are updated after the last sync, then FreeFileSync does not know how to handle them, and it does not provide any means for user intervention. If it gives a button to let user to decide which side to overwrite the other, then that will be great. Was this review helpful? 71 out of 191 users found this review helpful.

"Superb piece of software" by: Freewarefreak
Other Thoughts: As some other users in here, I've also been using SyncBack for quite some time. Then I found FreeFileSync and immediately switched, because it's just so much better in any aspect. It's fast, very easy to use and supports Unicode. And on top of that there's also a portable version available. All this for free! Thanks a lot to the developers. Was this review helpful? 72 out of 137 users found this review helpful.

"superior to SyncBack" by: Henry
Other Thoughts: I have been using SyncBack for years but not any more after discovering FreeFileSync. The most serious drawbackof SyncBack is that it does not support Unicode filenames. FreeFileSync supports Unicode filenames. The Help menu is clear and easy to understand. Lastly, FreeFileSync is PORTABLE, that's a dream-come-true.Was this review helpful? 64 out of 136 users found this review helpful.

"Just gets better!" by: deebee
Other Thoughts: I have also been using FreeFileSync to backup the entire drive as it supports shadow copy function, incremental backups at that! If I need to copy a backup back to C: drive I run it portably under Bart PE. I keep the portable version on the root of all the drives/partitions and run it from there under Bart PE,as you can't actually integrate it into the Bart PE disk (well I can't anyway). Works great, only does the data, doesn't matter if the target is smaller. I don't need to use Ghost anymore. Brilliant sync program, thanks to the author for making this free! Was this review helpful? 63 out of 128 users found this review helpful.

"Wonderful!" by: Don
Other Thoughts: Although many people use this only for sync jobs with folders, have found that this utility also supports shadow copying for "hot" copying.
Drive Image XML had no trouble making an image of a 160 GB drive that had 12 GB data on it, but gave me the error that it could not copy to a "smaller" target drive (80 gb) because it included free space too?
This gem copied only the DATA, & about 15 min or less later, I was up, running, ready to go!
If you want to "clone" a drive without losing any data, this is the way to go!
Be sure to go into options & select mirror first!
The author deserves a warm thank you, or perhaps a donation if you are able.
This saved me a lot!

"Won't load" by: AM
Other Thoughts: Great program but the new version doesn't load here - it gives an error message instead. I had to revert to version 1.19...Was this review helpful? 68 out of 141 users found this review helpful.

"Slows down" by: Thundab0x
Other Thoughts: I like this. Simple and it works. But I have 40-50,000 files I wanted to synch (no I am not a business user!) and after only a few thousand FreeFileSynch slows to a crawl. I eventually gave up and use Cobian Backup instead. It's not a synch program but it does the job fast. Was this review helpful? 63 out of 119 users found this review helpful.
