"Not that great"
by: stelter
IZArc 4.1.6

Pros: Works ok if no files are corrupted.

Cons: It won't extract any file that follows a corrupted file. If file 8 in folder 3 is bad, it won't extract file 9 or anything in folder 4. Repairing never works.

Other Thoughts: Free RAR Extract Frog worked just fine. I uninstalled IZArc and now use Extract Frog.

"IZArc 4.1.6"
by: ziba
IZArc 4.1.6

Pros: Free, works with a wide range of archive types, easy to use.

Cons: Sometimes a little slow to start up.

Other Thoughts: I can't for the life of me understand how anyone can find this program confusing. The user interface is simple and intuitive, and the options are easy to understand and set. I use both IZArc and 7-Zip. Of the two I find 7-Zip harder to use and a little confusing. I guess it's a matter of personal preference.

To the reviewer who claimed IZArc is spyware - it is NOT spyware. I've been using it for many years now and in all that time it's never tried to phone home. I've never had the "Setup/Uninstall' from your computer wants to connect to..." message you claim to have received. IZArc doesn't even check for updates unless you tell it to.

"Firewall says........"
by: Mark

Other Thoughts: Upon installation start, my firewall prompts with this:

'Setup/Uninstall' from your computer wants to connect to 67.192.173.235, port 80

'Setup/Uninstall' from your computer wants to connect to 207-171-183-
117.amazon.com [207.171.183.117], port 80

Which i then terminated the install.

I will stick with 7zip, at least it dont phone home like this over-rated garbage.

Free or not, this is spyware!

"An Outstanding and Versatile Utility"
by: CharlieOrlando

Other Thoughts: I've been using IZArc now for about 3 years and I've found that it handles pretty much every file compression/decompression task that I can throw at it. The utility really isn't that difficult to use at all, at least that's my opinion. Compressing and decompressing files is a snap, for example, via IZArc's options in Windows Explorer's context menu. In all, this great tool is a "must have" if you regularly work with zip, rar, lha, or any other types of compressed files. It's very much worth the download!
