Software Product Description

If you have the appropriate technical know-how, you can use such a program as Microsoft Word to design a business card. However, the process is too complicated for many users. A simple way of creating a good business card is by using Vizitka, a portable and lightweight application that lets users create their cards on the fly. New version contains some improvements.

You do not need to install the software and risk tampering with your system registry. All you have to do is extract the content of the downloaded archive and run the executable file. Here are the necessary steps:

  • Extract the distribution package into a new folder you have just created with your preferred name
  • Open the Vizitka.txt file using your default text editor, such as Notepad
  • Edit the existing information, replacing it with your own details. Save the details and close the file
  • Double click on the Vizitka.exe to create an HTML file with the same name
  • Double click on the newly created HTML file to open it with your default web browser and view the details you had entered in the text file, properly formatted for your business card
  • Print the web page by selecting A4 paper

You will print 10 business cards using this procedure. Each card has + marks defining its edges where you will need to cut it. Please avoid too glossy or thick paper, which may make the printer create smudges. The archive includes a CSS file that defines the format of your business cards. You can edit it to modify the appearance of the cards. However, you should only do this if you have relevant skills.

As you can determine from the steps, Vizitka does not have a user interface where you use it directly. This should not confuse you, as you will simply use your usual text editor and web browser.
