Aciqra is a free and open source planetarium which can simulate the sky from anywhere on Earth. It can accurately display eclipses, transits and occultations of planets, asteroids and comets in the solar system. It includes a catalog of over 13,000 deep space objects and 2.5 million stars.

Aciqra will run on most systems which support OpenGL. A minimum of 1.5 GB RAM is recommended. No minimum processing speed is required but faster processors are recommended for better performance.

Pros: Easy install. Easy to adjust viewing options.

Cons: Doesn't print maps for use at telescope. No way to set viewing location so unless you're in Colorado you're out of luck. Method of moving view designed for touchscreens.

Other Thoughts: No thanks.
