Check your system for Windows 11 compatibility issues ahead of time.

Yes, Windows 10 users can upgrade to Windows 11 free but, not so fast... the minimum hardware requirements are pretty stringent. For a start, a multi-core processor is needed, not to mention that TPM needs to be installed and UEFI firmware support available on your system.

The free Ashampoo Windows 11 Compatibility Check application enables you to check your system for Windows 11 compatibility so that you can make decisions on upgrading your system's configuration and/or your hardware. The simple utility makes a quick analysis of your system and itemizes the issues involved in being able to make those decisions.

Analyze the configuration of your system and its components

Checking your system for Windows 11 compatibility is as simple as downloading and installing the free application. Launched, it displays an informative interface with a 'Check Now' button at the top right. The two must-have items are positioned ahead of the comparison columns, with links to additional information. The TPM (Trusted Platform Module) information link opens to the page on Ashampoo's website that explains the module and its purpose, and links are available to lists of Windows 11 supported processors from the three major manufacturers.

The left-hand column lists the requirements for Windows 11 and the column at right will provide the results of the compatibility check. Comparisons made between the requirements and your system are:

  • CPU
  • Memory
  • DiskSpace
  • UEFI Firmware
  • Secure Boot
  • TPM Security
  • DirectX
  • Screen Size

At the bottom of the window, you'll find a Settings link that enables you to change the language used together with help and information links to the developer's website. The specific program date is provided at the bottom right, regular updates to the program being provided as Microsoft's requirements for Windows 11 change.

Clicking the Check Now button results in analysis results - your system's components - being listed or explained, with the appropriate check symbol displayed alongside. A ready or not message is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Checking your system now for Windows 11 compatibility will provide a heads up on the hardware upgrades and configuration changes you may need to make if you are intending to download the new Windows OS in the immediate future. From whether you have a compatible CPU to whether the system is Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) available and TPM enabled, the Ashampoo application provides you with the information you need. Fortunately for those systems that are not ready, Microsoft is undertaking to support Windows 10 for a few more years yet!
