The way you use your laptops battery may affect its performance. One of the most common mistakes that people make is overcharging their batteries. What you may not know is that, during charging, your laptops battery tends to experience significant stress when it is almost full. It is not always advisable to charge the battery to full capacity, but watching the charging meter and unplugging the charger before this happens is not practical.

Laptops generally give you the chance to set the maximum charging limit. However, accessing this feature may be a challenge, as you often need to access the configuration options before the operating system boots.

Fortunately, you can use Battery Limiter to set this limit easily and receive a warning when it is reached. The simple and lightweight application is set to let the battery charge up to 90 percent by default. However, you may change the level up to a maximum of 96 percent.

Once the battery reaches the set limit, Battery Limiter will sound an alarm to alert you of the situation. You will no longer forget and let the laptop overcharge. You only need to unplug the charger to deactivate the alarm.

To ensure that the alarm is always turned on, the application prevents the laptop from going into sleep mode.

The applications user interface displays the charge status so that you can readily see whether the battery is charging or not and its level. In addition to displaying the percentage on the lower part of the window, it will also show whether it is low, medium or high. You will also see the power status and charge limit.
