Fire up GMDesk, and just alt-tab (on Windows or Linux) or Cmd-tab (on Mac) to shift between this application and the other ones you are running.

GMDesk offers an easy menu as well as keyboard shortcuts to switch between different Google services, and you can specify what default service you want the application to start with. It also supports Google Apps access as well.

Requires: Adobe AIR.

"Great concept - needs a little fine tuning"

Pros: None

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: As the title of this review states, I think that GMDesk is a fantastic concept that I didn't realize how useful it could be until I tried this convenient little application. The menus are very easy to navigate and the program overall looks clean and well put-together. However, the memory footprint is curiously large (106mb on my Windows Vista system!!), and it would be nice if the program could be minimized to the system tray instead of cluttering up my taskbar. But by far the most glaring need is to enable users to set the font size. As it stands, the font size is tiny and often illegible. The developer is currently working hard to resolve this particular issue, however.

Once these issues are resolved, I will be saying adios to Mozilla Thunderbird in favor of this handy app. Well worth checking out!
