Harmony is a powerful audio player with a sleek graphical user interface, and it integrates cloud compatibility to create a fuller listening experience.

Using Harmony

The music player installed smoothly and launched immediately after installation. It displayed a settings window from where we specified the way we wanted to play music. We had the option to choose to listen with local tracks, SoundCloud, Spotify or Play Music. Alternatively, we could scrobble with We could also access the settings window via its dedicated button on the lower right corner of the program window.

When we opted to listen with local tracks, the player opened File Explorer so that we could select the desired audio folder. We selected our music directory with many music folders, and the player took some time scanning the directory. It then listed the compatible tracks from all folders, which meant that the list was very long. Thankfully, we could use the search bar on the upper right part of the window to quickly locate the tracks that we wanted to play. We could also add tracks to our favorites.

However, those functions did not always operate smoothly.

The settings window allowed us to enable coverflow, a feature that is still in beta. When enabled, the feature allowed us to display our music list in two different ways: we could either simply display the normal list or include graphics to make it more presentable.

Whenever a new track started playing, the program briefly displayed its title above the System Tray. Right-clicking on a title displayed a context menu with the options to play next, view artist, view album and copy URL. The copy URL feature allows users to search for the title of the selected song on YouTube.

Although the player was supposed to support some keyboard shortcuts, they did not really respond to us.

Harmony is a special music player that allows you to enjoy your favorite tracks at the same place whether they are on your local drive or the cloud. It supports Google Play Music, Spotify and SoundCloud.
