View your connection times and downloaded and uploaded data totals

Sea Star Development's Network Monitor Service is a useful free application that can provide information on your network connections.

Downloaded and unpacked, you need to right-click set-up.exe to select Run As Administrator. You can then follow the prompts to install the network monitor. The service runs with each system restart, with an entry for each session being written into the Internet Explorer Event Log, quarter-hourly events written for online sessions that continue for longer than that. After being written, the counters are reset to zero.

The simple GPRS online log interface details connections in a panel that lists Date, Connect and Disconnect times and total Time spent online. A date input field can be used to display total usage and total data sent/received since that date and the network adapter being used.

The utility monitors any GPRS activity whether it is via WiFi, PCMCIA, USB, mobile phone hotspot, etc. and is compatible with Windows XP and higher. In Windows 10, Controlled Folder Access should be turned off. The Help file, accessible from the application's log interface or from a desktop shortcut, provides a great deal of information on managing the network monitor.

The Network Monitor Service utility is well proven as a useful and convenient addition to home and small business systems. It provides such advantages as enabling easy quick comparison with service provider billings and tracking time spent during specific periods of time and using the available networks.
