It shows the current month and highlights today's date and allows the user to view other months.

It also includes a reminder feature which you can use to set alerts for essential days or events. Each reminder or event can use a different color which allows you to customize and categorize specific events or days. You can also have the app automatically delete old events.

Simple Desktop Calendar also lets you customize the calendar using colors of your choice. Merely click the calendar in the preferences section, a color dialog will display, and you can select your favorite color for the background, date, and more.

Additionally, users can specify the first day of the week, the first weekend day, and the second weekend day.

If you want the desktop calendar to launch on Windows Startup, there's a feature for that as well.

A handy icon is always visible in the system tray area that allows you to change your preferences quickly, or exit the program immediately.
